The Wayne County Schools Career Center Adult Community Education is accepting applications for the position of:
HVAC Instructor
Starting Date: Estimated start date would be October 15
Salary: Appropriate step on the Adult Education Salary Schedule
Reports to: Sandy Elliott Supervisor of Adult Education
Work week/year: Part time as needed with both day and evening hours available.
Specific schedule will be determined upon hire of the right
candidate.
Requirements:
5+ years experience in the HVAC industry. Demonstrated knowledge in applied theory, electrical components, motor controls and heating and cooling. Team player who demonstrates initiative, dependability and reliability. Must be eligible for an Adult Education teaching license (based on experience in the field) and certified to administer the EPA 608
Position Summary: The instructor provides updated and fully prepared instruction to students, actively engages in retention activities and manages the classroom/lab activities.
• Plans and implements class lessons.
• Maintains laboratory and classroom organization and cleanliness.
• Actively engages in retention activities including documented communication with both
students and administration regarding attendance and progress.
• Submits assigned grading and attendance documentation on deadline.
• Provides assistance for the planning, development, and maintenance of program
curriculum.
• Maintains an Advisory Board.
• Adheres to and supports school policies and procedures
